Who we are
Quaternary operates the digital projects at quaternary.co and its subdomains, including Quaternary Games at games.quaternary.co. For any privacy-related enquiries, contact us at hello@quaternary.co.
What we collect and why
Essential — always active
- Anonymous or account-linked user ID (via Firebase Authentication)
- Game statistics including puzzles played, streaks, and scores
- Current game progress to enable resuming after closing the browser
Analytics — only with your consent
- Page views and session information through Google Analytics 4
- IP addresses are anonymised before storage
Essential data is necessary for the service to operate and is not used for advertising purposes. Analytics data is used to understand how our projects are used and where we can improve. You may withdraw consent at any time.
How data is stored
Game data resides in Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication), with EU hosting where available. Google acts as the data processor under a standard Data Processing Agreement. Authentication tokens are kept in browser local storage for session continuity. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking beyond Google Analytics.
How long we keep it
- Active account statistics are kept indefinitely while your account is active
- Upon account deletion, data is removed within 30 days
- Inactive guest sessions are retained for 90 days
Your rights
Under GDPR and Swiss nFADP, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request corrections or deletion of your data
- Obtain a portable export of your data
- Withdraw analytics consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
